Gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the temporary casino and four satellite casinos in Cyprus reached 25.1 million euros in the third quarter of 2022. The growth was 17.3% compared to the same period last year, when revenue reached 21.4 million euros.
The turnover of slot machines during this period reached 350.7 million euros, an increase of 94.4 million euros compared to the third quarter of 2021. Revenue from slot machines reached 5.1% of sales. A year ago, this figure reached 5.0%.
The temporary casino C2 opened on June 28, 2018 in the former building of the Orphanides supermarket on Roosevelt Avenue in Limassol. The total area of the casino is 4600 square meters, the game room occupies 1300 square meters. The casino has 33 gaming tables, 242 slot machines and a VIP room. The temporary casino will be closed ahead of the planned re-opening of the City of Dreams Mediterranean Casino Resort at the beginning of the third quarter of 2023.
On December 10, 2018, the first C2 Nicosia satellite casino was opened on Neas Engomis Street in Nicosia. The area of the gambling establishment is 970 square meters, it has 5 gaming tables and 50 slot machines.
On December 21, 2018, the second satellite casino with 42 slot machines was opened at Larnaca Airport. The casino consists of two halls. It has slot machines located in the departure area next to the duty free shop and slot machines located in the lobby in front of passport control.
The third satellite casino opened in Ayia Napa in mid-July 2019. The gambling establishment is located on 13,829 square meters of land on Archbishop Makarios Avenue next to the Faros Hotel. Its area is 367 square meters.
The fourth C2 Paphos Satellite casino opened on February 24, 2020 in the coastal zone of the Geroskipou region, 3 kilometers from Paphos. The establishment, which is served by 25 employees, has 50 slot machines.
