1XBET categorically denies reports that their Curacao license has been suspended and that it continues to do business in Russia.
The betting company with its HQ in Cyprus has issued a statement refuting Josimarfootball.com’s claim that 1XBET’s Curaçao business was declared bankrupt by the Dutch Supreme Court.
In their response, 1XBET called Josimar’s football blog «a small activist website spreading misinformation.»
Last year Josimar journalists started reporting problems with 1XBET’s license for Curacao. The accusations against the company allege that it was declared bankrupt after it refused to pay 1.6 million Dutch Antillean Guilders (nearly EUR 830,000) to players that are members of the Representation of Victims of Online Gaming (SBGOK).
1XBET responded that the Curacao license is one of the many international licenses it manages.
1XBET said in a statement: «1XBET has not experienced any issues with the Curacao license, which remains in full force and effect.
1XBET and its franchises have always fulfilled their obligations to customers and partners.»
Media reporting on the 1XBET case were called by the company for «сareful fact checking and not relying on unfounded rumors and false assumptions.»
Josimar’s review of 1XBET has been found to be full of factual errors and made up of random statements not based on reality or fact.
Thus, one of Josimar’s main claims that 1xBET is owned by 1xCorp, a company from Curacao that was declared bankrupt, was found to be false.
«This is common practice within the gambling industry,» the statement continued. «If we believe the winnings are not legitimate and terms and conditions have been broken, we reserve the right to withhold the payment of the winnings pending until further investigation and will likely make requests for further information from the relevant account holders.
In the event, our investigation concludes that there has been a breach of our terms and conditions, winnings are withheld, as per the terms of our contract. These contested winnings are what is being pursued in Curacao.»
It is further stated that 1XBET faced similar problems in Russia. Lawyers at Parlan, a Moscow-based company, accused the betting group of owing money to more than 200 clients that the lawyers represent.
The response stated: «1XBET cannot have lost its license there, because it did not have it in the first place. The action relates to another bookmaking business in Russia, which is neither owned nor controlled by 1XBET.»
