The SBC Summit North America First Pitch competition has officially opened and will run until March 31st.
The event provides a unique platform for start-ups in the sports betting and gambling industry to showcase their innovative products and present their business ideas to leading experts and investors.
The startup competition will take place at the Meadowlands Convention Center in New Jersey and will be part of the Emerging Tech & Investment conference on May 10th.
The five US startups that meet the selection criteria and submit the most innovative ideas will be selected for the competition by an independent panel of experts that SBC will convene over the next month.
The winners will receive a prize package worth over $35,000 to help them realize their development and growth plans. Currently, the prize package, which will expand depending on the timing of the competition, includes:
- Semi-annual subscription (worth $25,000) to Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, a research and consulting company serving the gaming hardware, interactive gaming and sports betting sectors, for sports and emerging verticals.
- A $12,000 promotional package from SBC Media that includes six months of ads on SBC Americas, a news ad, and two front-page articles to promote the business.
- Exclusive branding or web design package ($2,800) from Vegas Kings, a game design and development company.
Eligible start-up companies must be established before 2020, specialize in sports betting or gambling, seek investment of at least $500,000, and raise no more than $5 million in external funding.
Applicant companies selected by a jury must be able to send at least one company representative to showcase their products at the SBC North America Summit on May 10th.
Last year’s winner was BetSwap, an integrated trading platform that allows bookmaker and DFS platform users to buy and sell live bets and DFS records in the secondary market while remaining on the operator’s platform.
