As part of its membership network, the Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority (LGCA) has joined United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), previously known as Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS).
ULIS and LGCA have worked together since May 2018 via a cooperation agreement, and LGCA is now a new associate member and will strengthen their collaboration.
“The two organizations share the same objectives, values, and commitment to tackle the phenomenon of match-fixing.
“The data and information we receive from ULIS, helps us to look carefully into the different sporting events taking place in our country and it can be used as an important element of our investigations at the national level,” LGCA director Virginijus Dauksys said.
During its October general meeting, ULIS announced it would rebrand after members unanimously approved the change. In a survey, members indicated that GLMS no longer represented the organization accurately.
