EA Sports Introduces EA Sports FC: An Interactive Football Game of the Future

On Thursday, EA Sports announced EA Sports FC, a successor to the 30-year FIFA franchise. The publisher presented a new game logo and spoke about its partnerships with clubs in Europe, South and North America, as well as with the leading national leagues.

According to the publisher, EA Sports FC will feature over 19,000 real-life stars thanks to a group license with FIFPRO. The game will include an additional 700 teams and 30 leagues, as well as over 300 global football partners, including women’s professional leagues and teams.

A year ago, Electronic Arts announced it was ending its relationship with FIFA. The FIFA license allowed the company to use the FIFA name and brand in its games, as well as represent the FIFA Women’s and Men’s World Cup tournaments.

Contracts with leading football organizations around the world, such as the English Premier League, the South American Cup of Libertadores and the Italian Serie A, are completely independent from FIFA, which gives the game more teams, kits and other content.

EA Sports promised to provide more details about the game later in July. The release of the game itself is scheduled for autumn.
