In Q1’2023 gambling revenues in Lithuania increased by 26.1%. This growth was noted in both online and land-based segments.
For the period up to March 31, total revenue in Lithuania was 55.3 million euros (48.0 million pounds sterling / 59.7 million dollars), which exceeds the results of last year, when it was 43.9 million euros.
In Lithuania, remote sports betting revenue was €9.6 million after placing bets worth €151.2 million. The online table gaming activity generated revenue of €2.9 million on an expense of €31.3 million in the quarter.
As a result of the move to land-based gambling, revenue increased by 10.0% to €18.7 million. Category B slots acted as the main source of income, bringing in 8.0 million euros after players wagered 50.7 million euros.
Revenue from category A slot machines reached 3.8 million euros with a total stake of 15.8 million euros. Table games generated revenue of €4.4m with bets of €20.3m and sports betting revenue of €2.5m for a total bet of €29.8m.
As a result of lottery activities, gross lottery gaming revenue for the quarter increased by 9.0% to reach 14.3 million euros. Interestingly, this happened despite a 2.9% decline in ticket sales, with a total of 26.5 million.
