ULIS Appoints Dedicated Team to Track the 2023 FIFA World Cup

As part of the FIFA Integrity Task Force, ULIS will monitor the betting market for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

On July 20, a pre-meeting was held with the participation of all other members of the Task Force, including such key organizations as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Interpol and the European Council.

A task force set up by FIFA is meant to protect the competition from match manipulation and any integrity issues; ULIS will use its analytical skills and experience to help protect, promote and maintain competition integrity.

For these purposes, ULIS also relies on the joint platform UMIG (ULIS Monitoring and Intelligence Group). UMIG is a resident international lottery working group made up of ULIS members and working with a group of expert analysts.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand from 20 July to 20 August. This is the second time the Task Force has monitored the Women’s World Cup, following the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
