Ganja Prepares for III Eastern European Games: Important Sporting Event in Azerbaijan

Ganja, the second largest city in Azerbaijan, has been chosen to host the upcoming III Games of Eastern Europe. This was stated by Mariana Vasileva, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan.

“The third Games of the Eastern European countries will be held in the city of Ganja – this is the second largest city in Azerbaijan after Baku, where a new modern complex is being built for the occasion. Any country puts emphasis on more developed sports, I think we will focus on the main Olympic sports and traditional non-Olympic sports for all countries,” Vasileva commented.

The event in Azerbaijan is scheduled for 2025.

On August 5, Minsk hosted the opening ceremony of the II Eastern European Games, which were originally aimed at young people, but have undergone some changes in the format of the event.

At the moment, from 4 to 14 August, the II Games of Eastern Europe are being held in 11 cities of Belarus. The event covers 20 sporting disciplines and brings together more than 2000 athletes from different countries, including Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
