The Verkhovna Rada has brought back the 18% tax rate on the gross gaming revenue for online casinos.
Yaroslav Zheleznyak, member of the Rada from the Holos party, and the author of the corresponding amendments, announced: «Despite the resistance of the two factions and attempts to knock down my amendments, we have returned the GGR tax for online casinos (18%).»
According to the member of the parliament, the European Solidarity and Batkivshchyna groups opposed the restoration of the tax.
According to the estimates of Daniil Getmantsev, Head of the Financial Committee in the Verkhovna Rada, the restoration of the tax will lead to an increase in the budget by at least 1.5 billion UAH per year.
