The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) for the Almaty region of Kazakhstan has begun a pre-trial investigation against the online casino 1Win, in connection with the facts of illegal activities in the country.
In addition to creating an illegal casino that sucked in thousands of citizens, the online platform also provided betting services without a proper gambling license, according to posts on the agency’s official social media pages. Representatives of the AFM emphasized that 1Win functioned not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the CIS countries and far abroad.
The AFM statement also contains information that 1Win accepts funds through Internet acquiring without performing the user identification procedure, which in turn allows the underaged to gamble.
Currently, the organizer of the illegal gambling business in Kazakhstan is under the status of a suspect. The AFM investigation is ongoing, within the framework of which investigative and operational measures are being carried out.
