Kazakhstan Has Closed Down Over 2,000 Online-Casino Websites Since The Beginning Of 2023

Since the beginning of this year, more than two thousand online casino sites have been blocked in Kazakhstan, according to BaigeNews.kz, citing information from the Republic of Kazakhstan’s financial monitoring agency.

The agency uses IT tools to search for illegal content in the online space as part of its preventive actions. This search includes monitoring news portals, blogs, websites and social media accounts.

This year, the TikTok platform, which is dominated by underage users, has seen an increase in online gambling broadcasts.

As a result of the measures taken, 177 accounts of the organizers were identified. The daily number of players was measured in thousands. 5 criminal cases were initiated against 10 organizers, of which 3 cases have already received their sentences (the rest are under consideration). As a result, 4 people were sentenced to real imprisonment for a term of 4 years, and 2 people were sentenced to restriction of freedom for a term of 1.5 years.
