In recent years, the problem of gambling in Kazakhstan has been gaining momentum and is becoming a real tragedy for some families, as President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in a meeting of the Security Council held on Monday, September 4, according to a report by Sputnik Kazakhstan media agency.
The agency reports that Tokayev held a meeting of the Security Council dedicated to the issue of gambling addiction among the population.
Given that young people are in a special risk group, the President of Kazakhstan instructed the government agencies to strengthen measures and establish restrictions on gambling for certain categories of citizens.
Tokayev noted to law enforcement agencies the increase in the level of crime associated with gambling addiction, and instructed to take preventive and other necessary measures to ensure law and order.
The President stressed that the public, the clergy and the media play an important role in shaping social attitudes aimed at preventing the development of gambling addiction in the country.
In addition, the Head of Kazakhstan also stressed the importance of stepping up action to prevent financial and other violations in the gambling industry.
