MeridianBet announced an agreement with FC Sarajevo, which implies the sports betting operator’s continued investment in the development of sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The club, founded at the creation of the country, demonstrated its excellence by winning the league title five times in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Not stopping there, the team has also won the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup seven times and lifted the Bosnia and Herzegovina Super Cup once.
MeridianBet is actively involved in world football, collaborating with more than 30 amateur and professional clubs. In addition, the company also announced its plan to supply national T-shirts signed by Edin Dzeko in support of children with spinal muscular atrophy in South-East Europe.
Despite a 24% year-on-year increase in total revenue, Meridianbet was recently blamed for a significant net profit loss of $965,628 in the third quarter, Golden Matrix CEO said.
In January 2023, Golden Matrix agreed a deal to buy MeridianBet for €300 million using a hybrid share-cash deal. However, in June, Golden Matrix entered into a revised purchase agreement with MeridianBet.
The renegotiated purchase agreement between Golden Matrix and MeridianBet resulted in an extension to the closing date originally scheduled for the first half of 2023, as well as changes to the structure of the agreement.
