The operator provided the self-excluded player with the opportunity to use his online gambling account again.
The Lithuanian Gambling Supervisory Authority handed Top Sport another fine, this time in the amount of €25,000 for violating self-exclusion rules. The operator was unable to prevent its online gambling offer from being used by a player who had previously self-excluded.
In March this year, the player contacted the regulator and reported that he was able to access his account, despite the fact that he had signed up for the National self-exclusion program in October last year. The Gambling Supervisory Authority found that despite his registration on October 31, the player continued to play Top Sport online games on November 11 and 22 and remained logged into his account.
In accordance with Article 10, Clause 21 of the Lithuanian Gambling Law, operators must block access to those who have joined the self-exclusion scheme and prohibit them from logging into their accounts. Top Sport has the right to appeal.
It’s the latest in a series of penalties applied to Top Sport. It was fined in June for allowing minors into land-based gaming establishments, and in April for violating payment rules. Top Sport has previously been fined twice for breaking CCTV rules at its land-based playing facilities and for hosting a foreign player on its website.
