ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), a leading eSports and video gaming company, announces that Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) is now available on the online competitive gaming platform FACEIT. CS2 players can now join the world’s largest community of 22 million players on FACEIT to quickly hone their skills in the new version of Counter-Strike.
On the FACEIT platform, players will be able to join communities, exchange tips and feedback on their professional journey, and play matches on private servers. FACEIT offers its own ranking system, starting at level 1 and going up to level 10. Participants can take part in community tournaments and qualify for the FACEIT Pro League (FPL), starting their journey to becoming one of the best Counter-Strike players in the world. To ensure security, the platform provides renowned fraud protection and chat moderation using their proprietary artificial intelligence known as “Minerva”.
A new era has begun in the world of Counter-Strike on the FACEIT platform with the introduction of a new seasonal Elo rating system. Season 1 of FACEIT is designed to provide the perfect competitive environment for CS2. FACEIT’s first season culminates with FPL Proving Grounds: The Ultimate Path to Pro, featuring the largest prize pool ever offered in a public matchmaking system, including $100,000 in prizes for the top Challenger players.
Designed to give players with high Elo ratings the chance to break into the professional arena, FPL Proving Grounds will be held every four months and will be a new route to qualifying for the FPL. Its first stage will be the grand finale of FACEIT’s first season, replacing the FPL-C Hubs and FPL-C Qualifiers. The path to FPL is now open and closely linked to the Elo leaderboards in Europe, North America and South America.
As part of future updates to CS2, the FACEIT platform will introduce the Super Match feature, an innovation that will allow players to control the matchmaking process and secure certain parameters of the next match. This innovative feature ensures that the algorithm adapts to the needs of the players. Version 1.0 of Super Match will be available to all Plus and Premium subscribers in all regions.
