Legendary football player and founder of the AAA Foundation, Shota Arveladze, has confirmed his participation in the upcoming SBC Summit Tbilisi, where he will give a welcoming speech.
The event, including an exhibition and conference, will take place on October 23—24 at the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace Hotel. It will be dedicated to analyzing the opportunities and challenges in the sports betting and gambling industry not only in Georgia, but also in adjacent regions such as Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Balkans and others.
In his keynote, entitled “Local Success Becoming Global”, Shota Arveladze will examine the important role of international organizations not only in the field of sports, but also in other sectors, highlighting their contribution to regional development. These organizations provide not only resources and training, but also improve global visibility of regional initiatives. In the field of sports, they provide access to international standards and financial support through sponsorship and funding, attracting fans, sponsors and new opportunities for athletes.
Arveladze noted: “Sports is something that goes beyond borders, and I’ve been lucky enough to experience its magical ability to bring people together. Whether on the field or in life, I’ve seen the incredible things that can happen when we collaborate. I’ve always aimed to show how partnerships on an international level can make a big difference in the regional football.”
In addition, the former football star will also share valuable insights on how the betting industry can catalyze the growth of the sport through strategic partnerships.
“We all know that the betting industry plays a major role in sports today, so I am very happy that SBC and SMH brought this event to my home country and are giving all of us an opportunity to discuss how we can do better,” Arveladze added.
Arveladze’s 18-year career continues to impress, including successful performances both domestically and internationally. His name is closely associated with clubs such as Dinamo Tbilisi, Trabzonspor, Ajax and Rangers, making him one of Georgia’s greatest football exports.
In his coaching career, Arveladze commenced his managerial path with Kayserispor in 2010, and most recently, he served as the manager of Hull City, an EFL Championship club. Furthermore, Arveladze continues to champion the development of football in the region, stressing the crucial role of international partnerships in advancing the sport’s reach.
Founded by the football legend, the AAA Foundation is an expression of his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact not only in the field of sports, but also in broader areas. It provides a platform for Arveladze’s philanthropic initiatives, directing resources and efforts to a variety of projects aimed at developing sports talent, promoting sportsmanship and supporting inclusivity in sports.
Through this foundation, he strives to create opportunities for young athletes, support marginalized communities and drive positive change through the universal language of sport.
Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC commented: “It’s truly inspiring to witness athletes who continue to make a difference even after their professional careers have concluded. Shota has spearheaded various endeavors to support his nation and empower young talents, and it’s a tremendous privilege to welcome him as the keynote speaker at our event in his hometown of Tbilisi.”
Earlier this year, SBC and SMH, co-organizers of the SBC Summit in Tbilisi, together with the Arveladze Foundation, supported the charity football match Game4Ukraine 2023. Both former and current football legends took part in this significant event joining Oleksandr Zinchenko and Andriy Shevchenko with the goal of raising funds to help rebuild a boarding school in the North of Ukraine.
