Ukrainian Gambling Regulator Reports Record Number of Applications for Gambling Licences

The legalization of the gambling business in Ukraine brought not only significant revenues to the budget, but also stimulated the interest of hundreds of new participants in entering this market.

The Gambling Regulatory Commission (KRAIL) noted that November was a period of high activity in applying for licenses. During this month, 686 new participants expressed a desire to enter the gambling market.

Of the verified applicants, according to the regulator, licenses and permits to operate were issued to 139 applicants.

  • 1 license B2B gambling services;
  • 104 licenses for slot machines;
  • 1 license for gambling in casino establishments;
  • 2 licenses for gambling in halls with slot machines;
  • 30 licenses for hosting gaming tables and tables with a roulette ring.

In addition, according to information from KRAIL, 177 of the submitted applications were not considered due to a lack of mandatory data in the submitted documents. In addition, requests for licenses were rejected in 3 cases.

In November, the gambling business paid taxes in the amount of more than 2 billion hryvnia, which is 10 times more than the volume of tax payments for the entire 2021.
