New Requirement for Bookmakers in Kazakhstan: Mandatory Provision of Player Data

The State Revenue Department for the Mangistau region announced changes in tax legislation, NewTimes.kz reports.

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the law on amendments and additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On taxes and other obligatory payments to the budget”, the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the entry into force of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and “On taxes and other obligatory payments to the budget.”

Now, for taxpayers using cash registers with a data transfer function, the obligation to store certain documents for five years is removed: shift reports, cash ledger and sales receipts, including cancellation and return checks and control checks after cancellation and return transactions.

After 60 days from the date of the first official publication, gambling business organizers, including bookmakers and sweepstakes, will be required to provide the committee with information about gambling participants and bets, as well as their winnings through the integration of information systems.

From January 1, 2024, state revenue authorities received the right to transmit information to the Smart Data Ukimet information and analytical system without human intervention in an automatic mode to select inspection objects.

Now, when confirming the location of a taxpayer during a tax survey, it will be mandatory to provide the state revenue authority with a written explanation of the reasons for absence, along with copies of documents and their originals (for verification) or notarized copies.
