Kindred is strengthening its responsible gambling initiative through collaborations with ATG and Svenska Spel.
Since 2022, three operators, two of them state-backed companies, have teamed up with a common goal of tackling problematic gambling behavior in the Swedish market.
The trio regularly publish joint reports every six months for the Swedish Gambling Authority. These reports include key messages aimed at increasing public awareness and facilitating dialogue on reducing gambling harm. Some of the indicators presented include the percentage of active customers referred for problem behavior, the effectiveness of the intervention, and the percentage of customers who self-excluded from the operator for less than or more than six months.
The semi-annual reports provide Swedish stakeholders with an overview of the activities of Kindred, ATG and Svenska Spel in combating harmful behavior and promoting safe gambling through regulation, technology, research and intervention.
According to the latest Kindred report for the second half of 2023, the number of people who improved control over their gambling behavior after active contacts increased to 78.19%, up from 75.09% in the first half of the year.
Kindred’s latest report on efforts to reduce harmful gambling revenue to zero shows visible results. Thanks to this initiative, gross withdrawals from high-risk accounts decreased to 3.1% in the Q4’23, compared to 3.3% in the Q3
