Betano has deepened its cooperation with the Romanian Football Federation (FRF), extending the strategic agreement until 2030 after a successful two years of working together.
A representative from Kaizen Gaming commented: “Through our shared vision and innovative initiatives, such as a new competition format, we’ve brought the game closer to fans both in the stands and at home. The two companies previously collaborated to develop the Cupa Romaniei Betano, one of the country’s football league tournaments founded in 1933 and held annually except during the Second World War.
Cupa Romaniei is the main tournament in the country, the winner of which is guaranteed a place in the UEFA Europa League qualifying matches and participates in the match for the Romanian Super Cup.
Julio Iglesias Hernando, Betano CCO, added: “Two years ago I announced with my esteemed president of the Romanian Football Federation, Mr Razvan Burleanu, the beginning of our journey as partners in the revamped Cupa Romaniei Betano.
Our goal is the same we had right from the beginning: to elevate together Cupa Romaniei Betano to new heights and help the federation in improving and continue developing football in Romania. The new format of the competition has attracted great attention from the fans, while initiatives like the TV show Bate Cupa have put the spotlight on teams and their players in an unconventional and entertaining way.”
Previously, Cupa României was sponsored by Samsung Electronics, Ursus Breweries and Casa Pariurilor.
However, late last year it was announced that Betano would become the official sports betting partner for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 tournament. The decision comes after Betano was selected as the first sports betting operator to support the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
