Genius Sports Limited and the Lithuanian Basketball League (Betsafe-LKL) have signed an agreement to implement a computer vision system in stadiums, making Betsafe-LKL the first basketball league in Europe to automate the capture of eventing data, rich tracking data and broadcast-quality live video production via a single system.
Using its advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, Genius Sports transforms this data and video footage into actionable insights, delivering immersive experiences for fans and new sponsorship opportunities for both the league and its teams.
Genius Sports uses artificial intelligence to instantly analyze and understand the dynamics of the game, taking into account the context, including the language of coaches, players and fans.
Betsafe-LKL teams will have access to Genius Sports Insight, an advanced coaching analysis tool similar to those used in the NBA. Insight combines detailed tracking data with video footage to help analysts quickly find answers to their toughest tactics and performance questions.
Additionally, thanks to Genius Sports’ AI augmentation technology, Betsafe-LKL fans will experience new broadcast experiences, including enhanced video feeds with real-time data and graphics, as well as the creation of new sponsorship inventory for the league’s commercial partners.
Betsafe-LKL has begun implementing a computer vision system from Genius Sports, with all stadiums expected to be completed by the start of the 2024/25 season.
