SBC Eurasia Editorial Team is happy to present a quick recap of the gambling industry events, news, regulations and partnerships that happened last week. 

Radostina Valcheva, CEO of EGT and Amusnet Georgia, talked about the significance of the SBC Summit and the value of collaboration with SMH Global. Recently, SBC Summit Tbilisi welcomed EGT Georgia as a presenting partner for the 2024 event, jointly organized by SBC and SMH.

On April 30, 2024, the National Assembly of Bulgaria unanimously adopted important changes to the Gambling Law, which effectively prohibit gambling advertising in various media, including television, radio, print and electronic media. 

Following a period of a shortened sports calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic, summer 2024 will be a true sports festival for the sports betting industry, bringing together the UEFA European Championship, CONMEBOL Copa America and the Summer Olympics. Ivan Rozic, Head of OddsMatrix Sales at EveryMatrix, said hosting three tournaments this summer is an incredibly exciting proposition. 

Energame, a company specializing in consulting and investment in online entertainment, announced the appointment of Nicholas Tymoshchuk to the position of CEO. While Craig Felenstein has joined Sportradar’s leadership team as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective June 1. 

Scientific Games has included Bulgarian company 7777 Gaming as the ninth iLottery studio partner in their new affiliate program, SG Content Hub. Moreover, Scientific Games has also strengthened its relationship with Loterija Slovenije, Slovenia’s national lottery operator, by entering into an expanded partnership. 

Evoplay continues its expansion in the Baltic region through a new partnership with Betsafe in Lithuania, which will see the integration of over 90 Evoplay games into Betsafe, operator of the Betsson Group. While NetBet Casino and Habanero have signed a regional partnership that will see Habanero’s games available on the NetBet casino platform in Denmark. 

Delasport and OKBET have announced a new sports agreement aimed at improving the experience of sports bettors in the Philippines. While Slotsjudge, a Cyprus-based  iGaming entertainment and review platform, has recently entered into a new agreement with Popiplay, a Scandinavian software provider.

The Malta National Lottery is introducing Novomatic’s new Novovision technology for cashless payments across its 240 licensed lottery shops. Thanks to the deployment of 56 Novovision ATMs, lottery customers can now use cashless methods and claim their winnings.

BetMGM has been announced as the official training wear partner of Tottenham Hotspur from the start of the 2024/25 season. While CopyBet has been confirmed as the official front-of-shirt sponsor of Queens Park Rangers for the next two seasons. The operator’s partnership will commence its first full-year ahead of the 2024/25 EFL Championship season with the CopyBet logo being showcased on the front of QPR home and away shirts.
