TechFueling the Industry: Insights from Vbet’s Head of Technology Ahead of SBC Summit Tbilisi 2024

Today, technology plays an important role that isn’t even up for discussion. In essence, there are no other roles within the gaming industry, or anywhere else for that matter. The only question that remains is how quickly results can be achieved and the quality of service provided.

The SBC Summit Tbilisi 2024, which starts in just a month, will also include a focus on technology. SBC Eurasia met with Rafael Kobalyan, the head of technology at Vbet,  and discussed the main trends in the industry. Kobalyan himself will be a speaker on TechFuel: Role of Technology in Market Development panel at the SBC Summit Tbilisi.

– First of all, can you tell us a little bit about what your role at Vbet involves?

My department is primarily responsible for improving user experience. With new products and services, we give them the technology remote control. We also assist the business with previously identified solutions and monitor quality.

– What do you anticipate are the top technology trends in 2024?

– Without a doubt, it is the implementation of personalization systems and AI. Personalization is now a must-have in almost every sphere of activity; in gaming, it allows players to receive an instant response to their queries without wasting time searching.

– What are some of the biggest technological challenges and innovations that the betting industry faces today in our region, and how are you addressing them?

– Users frequently underestimate the role of AI in their daily lives, not realizing how much technology simplifies it. Humans are still learning how to interact with artificial intelligence, assuming that it is easier to understand a “live” person. It is our goal to train AI so that users are completely unaware they are interacting with a bot.

– Many companies also use AI to improve customer experience, personalisation, and game development. How are you leveraging AI capabilities?

– As a result of our recent development, we have built a live chat platform that is powered by artificial intelligence – this significantly improves our service quality (Hoory / AI Betting Assistant). Moreover, we continue to implement personalization; our new product, AI Betting Assistant, assists players in placing bets, subscribing to matches, receiving notifications, and learning game statistics.

– Could you discuss any recent technological initiatives or projects that your team has been working on to enhance the betting experience or improve operational efficiency?

– The current focus is on finding new solutions for our loyalty systems – we want to extrapolate social industry systems to gaming practice, giving our players more advantages.

– What are your expectations, and what are the key topics or issues that you plan to address during your participation in the SBC Summit Tbilisi in June?

–AI is a topic we discuss a lot today. It is part of our daily lives. It is common to hear the phrase “AI-powered,” but that doesn’t always mean there is AI present; sometimes, an algorithm is doing the work. Despite the fact that many services do this, not all users understand it. There is a need to raise this question and we will also discuss this at the summit.

Those who are interested in developing the industry can find unique and beneficial solutions at the SBC Summit Tbilisi. Additionally, for me meeting old and new partners is always a pleasure.
