Taking part in the SBC Summit Tbilisi is one of the most important opportunities for getting to know the local market and companies. This is Georgia’s second time hosting the event. Giorgi Nadaraia, CMO of betlive, explained how the conference is important for Georgia and how the company prepares for the upcoming busy summer sports season.
On June 25-26, Nadaria himself will speak at the SBC Summit Tbilisi at the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace.
– You are participating in the SBC Summit Tbilisi for the second time. How did last year’s event go for you? What made you decide to return? What is your expectation for the SBC Summit Tbilisi 2024?
– The first SBC Summit in Tbilisi was held at a very high level, and you cannot say that it was the first one. I would like to thank the entire team and organizers for this. The environment and concept of the event also reflected this. A number of relevant topics were discussed at the conference, including AI integration, new trends, and industry innovations. The value of each speech was immense.
During the upcoming event, I hope to hear about important industry topics, a deeper dive into issues, which, in turn, will encourage a greater interest in and inclusion of more people in the industry in the future, which is a good thing for both the country and the industry.
– What is the specificity of the regional market in your opinion? How does the global agenda differ from the local one? What are the nuances to consider when working with Eurasia?
– Firstly, Georgia and our entire region are part of the global market. It goes without saying, however, that even in my field, there are certain elements that are specific. There are probably natural differences between countries when it comes to affiliate work, traffic, and regulations. As a result, approaches will also vary depending on the market.
Meanwhile, speaking of global trends, we can apply everything that works elsewhere to our own country. As a whole, I think our gambling and iGaming sectors are very strong. Compared to many European countries, we are not behind, if not better. We discussed specific cases last year, but we are also part of the global trend and are even trendsetters in some areas.
– For the second time, Georgia will host the SBC Summit. In your opinion, what does this mean for the country and the Georgian market?
– It is not uncommon for Georgian companies to participate in various international summits, such as those in Barcelona or London. Whenever we met with foreign colleagues, the question always arose: “How are you? How is your region, country doing?” Thus, it was always our expectation that such an event would be possible in Georgia.
Obviously, this is a chance for Georgian companies to stand next to those large businesses that exist on the world market and demonstrate their advantages and benefits. Moreover, as a hospitable country, Georgia is a natural fit to be a host.
Since we do not sell a direct product, networking is important to us, so we meet new people, introduce them to our country and culture so that there are more valuable points of contact. In my opinion, this is all very important at both the company and individual levels.
Additionally, this is a unique opportunity for job seekers. By attending the Summit, they can meet a lot of professionals, listen to what they have to say, share their opinion, show who they are, and possibly get a job and enter the international market. An opportunity like this is very important for a country like ours. The SBC Summit plays an important role in this regard.
– We often hear about attracting foreign companies to our region. A corresponding panel will also be held at the SBC Summit Tbilisi. What are your thoughts on how local companies can attract the West?
– As I mentioned before, Georgia is a part of the global network. For us, it is very significant and important that guests of this caliber arrive, make acquaintances, and discuss investments, even if there is little interest. Now, we’re not discussing any grand collaborations; such issues can’t be resolved in a few days.
Additionally, don’t forget about the eastern part of the CIS and Asia. It is very important to pay attention to these emerging markets. I think in the future, these markets will only become stronger since they have firmly declared themselves.
This is why many regional summits have been held in Dubai, Manila, etc. Clearly, companies are working actively in the market, and their professionalism has improved. Asia has caught up with the West when it comes to information, technology, and data processing. Moreover, as a geographically located link between West and Asia, Georgia’s role in this is very clear. It gives us the opportunity to establish ourselves in both Asia and Western markets.
– The panel you will speak on is ‘Data-Driven iGaming: Optimizing Marketing Performance during Major Sports Tournaments’. Summer Olympics, Copa America, and Euro-2024 are just around the corner. From a marketing perspective, how is betlive preparing for these big championships?
– Our company mobilizes all its resources ahead of these very important championships. We are not just talking about marketing or finance here, but about everything. In other words, we can discuss optimizing spending or data for specific audiences and offers.
Support for Georgian sports is also a priority for us. Our goal is to find intersections wherever possible. Euro-2024 are not just local phenomena, they are important for the entire country and industry, so we also take a global view. It is important for us to position the brand through this event in order to gain more attention and to provide more benefits for famous people and others during a specific time period.
In terms of my presentation on the panel, I will be discussing the process of creating a new project that we will present shortly, among other things. The Georgian national team qualified for Euro 2024, so we, naturally, took this into consideration; moreover, our main focus is on our team.
– During the SBC Summit Tbilisi as a guest, what panels are you looking forward to attending? Are there any topics or areas you are particularly interested in?
– In light of my professional interests, I will be focusing primarily on affiliate marketing and influencer marketing. This seems to be a leading trend now, and anyone wanting to know how to organize all of this from a marketing perspective will find this interesting.
