The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan has reported the annual income of local gambling establishments.

According to the State Revenue Committee, in 2022, the total annual income of taxpayers engaged in activities in the field of gambling and betting amounted to $2.36 billion (1.05 trillion tenge).

In 2023, the figure increased to $2.85 billion (1.27 trillion tenge).

Thus, over the year, the income of gambling operators in Kazakhstan increased by 20.7%, which in monetary terms amounts to 497.86 million dollars (221.20 billion tenge).

The State Revenue Committee does not yet have data for 2024, since the tax period is the calendar year from January 1 to December 31.

There is also no information about the losses of Kazakhstanis in gambling establishments.

The income of the single lottery operator JSC Satty Zhuldyz is not disclosed, since this information is a tax secret.

It should be noted that in Kazakhstan, casino activities are officially permitted in the Shchuchinsky district of the Akmola region and on the coast of the Kapchagai reservoir in the Almaty region.

Kazakhstan’s parliament, the Mäjilis, is considering a bill on issues related to gambling, lotteries, and lottery activities. In April, the document was approved in the first reading. If passed, the new law could introduce a gambling ban for government employees and those on the debt registry. In addition, it will ban advertising by bookmakers. Only citizens at least 25 years old will be able to gamble.
