The Board of Directors of Kambi Group Plc has officially named Werner Becher as the new CEO of the sports betting technology group.
Becher will assume his role at Kambi on July 25, taking over from Christian Nylen, who is concluding his 14-year tenure as CEO. Kambi’s Q2 2024 results are scheduled to be released the day before the transition.
Previously, Werner served as CEO of Sportradar EMEA and Latin America, where he played a key role in leading Sportradar’s $7 billion IPO on Global Nasdaq in 2021. From 2011 to 2018, Becher was the CEO of DACH Interwetten Sports.
Becher joins Kambi as the company implements a “modularization strategy,” which includes opening its platform, developing its AI pricing division, Tzeract, and acquiring Abios and Shape Games.

Becher expressed confidence in Kambi’s ambitious technology goals while maintaining its status as a leading provider of sports betting solutions to over 40 tier-one clients, including Kindred Group, LeoVegas, Rush Street Interactive, and Bally’s Interactive.
