Flutter Entertainment has announced the appointment of Christine McCarthy and Robert Bennett to its board of directors. McCarthy, described as a “seasoned entertainment executive,” will join the audit committee, while Bennett will serve on the risk and sustainability committee. Both appointments are effective from July 30.
Flutter Chairman John Bryant said: “Christine and Rob’s extensive experience in the entertainment industry will be invaluable assets to Flutter as we continue to expand our leadership position as a global provider of online sports betting and gaming.”
McCarthy has held several leadership positions at The Walt Disney Company, including senior vice president and treasurer, and executive vice president of corporate real estate, alliances, and treasury, before becoming CFO. She most recently served as a strategic advisor to Disney. Additionally, McCarthy is a director and audit committee chairman at Procter & Gamble Company and a director and finance committee chairman at FM Global.
Bennett is the managing director of Hilltop Investments, LLC, a private equity firm. He has previously served as president of Discovery Holding Company, and president, CEO, and CFO of Liberty Media Corporation. His past directorships include positions at Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc., Sprint Corporation, Demand Media, Inc., Discovery Holding Company, Liberty Interactive Corporation, and Sprint Nextel Corporation.

In related news, Flutter Group reported revenues of $3.4 billion for Q1 2024, a 16% increase from $2.9 billion in Q1 2023, with the group’s portfolio of brands boosting the average monthly player count to 13.7 million during the quarter.
