SBC Eurasia Editorial Team is happy to present a quick recap of the gambling industry events, news, regulations and partnerships that happened last week.

SBC Summit Tbilisi’s second edition, took place from June 25 to 26, saw a record-breaking turnout of over 1,500 attendees. Organized by SBC in partnership with SMH, and supported by presenting partners EGT Digital and Amusnet Georgia, the sports betting and iGaming event offered a thorough exploration of Eastern European and Central Asian markets, spotlighting Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, Bulgaria and Romania, among other markets. Additionally, SBC is set to introduce the Affiliate Leaders Summit at the upcoming SBC Summit Lisbon, their flagship event anticipated to bring together 25,000 industry professionals worldwide. While renowned professional skateboarder turned entrepreneur, and iconic video game legend Tony Hawk is slated to deliver a keynote at the Summit.

Evolution Gaming faces scrutiny in Georgia related to the working environment of its office and live gaming studio in Tbilisi. Georgian media reports that “at least 5,000 employees” of Evolution Georgia went on strike from 12 July, demanding improved working conditions, labour rights and higher salaries.

Sportsbook and igaming solution provider Digitain has announced the release of its Centrivo Affiliate platform. The company’s latest offering aims to help operators expand their capabilities in terms of player acquisition marketing, retention, and reactivation. 

Sportradar has extended its partnership with UEFA for​ the provision of exclusive betting data rights, now expanded to include the non-exclusive rights for non-betting media.

Boomerang became Milan’s official betting partner in Europe. The partnership will help Milan realize its strategy of global growth and increase fan engagement across Europe with unique experiences. While BC.GAME has been named the front-of-shirt sponsor of newly promoted Premier League side Leicester City.

Entain has announced Helen Ashton as its new Independent Non-Executive Director, she will take the reins with immediate effect. While sports betting and iGaming provider GR8 has revamped its management team by expanding the roles of CTO Artur Ashirov and Chief Revenue Officer Oleksandr Feshchenko, promoting them to new deputy CEO positions.

Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch gaming authority, has stated that it will utilise investigative findings to improve the duty of care at gaming halls across the Netherlands. While the Danish Consumer Ombudsman, the Gambling Advertising Council, and the Danish Gambling Authority have established a new agreement to enhance coordination in combating illegal gambling marketing in Denmark.

EveryMatrix has acquired sports betting solutions provider FSB Technology (FSB) in an all-cash transaction managed by Oakvale Capital. While Betway will begin its ‘planned exit’ from US sportsbook markets, as announced by NYSE-listed parent company Super Group.

Betsson has become the official betting partner of Swedish ATP tennis tournament Nordea Open. Additionally, Fun88 was named the title partner of Vizag Warriors. The operator continues its support of regional cricket leagues in India, aiding young talent and fostering a cricket community. 

The founders of Indian operator Passion Gaming have bought back shares from investors, regaining full control of the company. Passion Gaming, known for its real-money online rummy platform Rummy Passion, has exceeded 10 million registered players in 2023. 

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has revoked the accreditation of a POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator) service provider in Clark, Pampanga, due to illegal activities. The facility was raided and subsequently closed in 2023.

MightyTips and Marathonbet have formed a new partnership covering the Brazilian market.

For the second year in a row the $10,000 buy-in World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas has not only exceeded 10,000 entries but has also set a new record for the largest prize pool in live poker tournament history.
