Casinos play a very important role in France’s gambling landscape. With just over 200 land-based casino establishments dotted around the country’s coastal and thermal resorts, they act as world-famous symbols (think Monaco or Deauville) of style and status. But, just as importantly, they provide substantial amounts of public funds to local communities, in particular the smaller establishments that are situated in less famous locations. Laurent Lassiaz, CEO of France’s second largest casino operator JOA Group, speaks about accessing the digital sphere, land-based growth and strategic forks in the road. 

Vixio has published its semi-annual iGaming Outlook in the US, predicting that the seven US gaming states will collectively overtake the UK in terms of GGR by 2024.

Swedish game provider Gaming Corps has entered the Bulgarian market through a new partnership with operator Kaizen Gaming, offering local players a comprehensive suite of iGaming options. Additionally, REEVO is pleased to announce its collaboration with Slotino, a leading online casino brand on the regulated Bulgarian market.

SOFTSWISS reported a decline in gambling fraud notifications in the first quarter of the year. While Sportradar has entered a new deal with Tennis Data Innovations (TDI) and the ATP Tour for the launch of a new initiative to safeguard tennis players.

Southampton FC will once again step on the Premier League pitch this season, accompanied by a new sponsor in the face of crypto casino Rollbit. While global gaming platform Parimatch has unveiled its exclusive global partnership with the Argentine Football Association (AFA) in Asia. 

Rugby League will descend on the US next year as the Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves will contest a Betfred Super League fixture in Las Vegas. While Betano sponsors a celebratory match to mark the 20th anniversary of Greece’s unexpected victory at Euro 2004. The event featured a friendly match between the 2004 Greek National Team, known as ‘Legends 2004’, and the UEFA All Star team.

The NBA has netted a record broadcast deal with ESPN, ABC, NBC and Amazon. Worth $76bn, the multi-year media partnership will begin at the start of the 2025/26 season and has been described as one of the most valuable in all of sports. 

Sports betting provider Betby has launched a new offering focused on the Summer Olympics. With the solution, operators will be able to expand services to bettors interested in the Paris Olympics, with odds provided for both individual competitions and tournament outrights.

Croatia will move to overhaul its gambling laws as a pledge guaranteed by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Croatia’s new government. While Montenegro will re-evaluate the controversial ban proposed on digital payment systems, wallets and mobile apps for betting transactions.

The Dutch Gaming Authority, Kansspelautoriteit, has issued a warning to JOI Gaming Ltd for using celebrities for marketing purposes at Jack’s Racing Day event. 

EveryMatrix has reported significant growth for its casino product CasinoEngine, which has surpassed over €6bn in monthly turnover and the six billion monthly game round mark.

Atlaslive, a leading software provider, has announced a partnership with NextOnPro, a payment provider known for its diverse crypto-fiat payment methods. This collaboration aims to streamline and simplify payment processes for online gaming operators globally. 

China Media Group, Esports World Cup Foundation and Asia’s largest esports operator VSPO signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Friday, the opening day of the new National Institute for Esports Development in Beijing.

The Philippines’ gambling regulator, Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), has confirmed that 74.78% of the illegal igaming websites so far detected have been blocked. The total number includes all illegal operations – from websites offering online games to mobile applications and offshore sites – found to be in breach of the Anti-Online Gambling Act.
