DAZN has secured the international broadcasting rights to the Premier League for Spain and Portugal, covering the 2025-26 to 2027-28 seasons. This deal will expand DAZN’s European presence with its Premier League content, adding to its existing coverage in Belgium through Play Sports.
In addition to the Premier League, DAZN holds various football broadcasting agreements across Europe, including Serie A in Italy, La Liga in Spain, and recently secured exclusive domestic rights in France, making it the primary broadcaster for Ligue 1.
Beyond Europe, DAZN has also acquired exclusive rights from UEFA to broadcast all UEFA club competitions in New Zealand. This includes prestigious tournaments like the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, with coverage starting from the 2024/25 season and continuing through to the 2026/27 season.
These strategic deals underscore DAZN’s efforts to solidify its position as a leading global sports streaming platform.
Pete Oliver, CEO of Growth Markets at DAZN, commented: “DAZN is dedicated to bringing the best in sports entertainment to our customers in New Zealand, and the UEFA competitions, which feature some of the biggest clubs and greatest players in world football, are a compelling addition to our premium content offering.
“DAZN’s customers in the market already enjoy an ever-expanding portfolio of exciting sports content, which includes boxing, the NFL Game Pass, Rally.TV and FIBA Courtside 1891. Delivering excellent value and comprehensive accessibility, DAZN continues to create the most engaging and compelling proposition for sports fans.”
The first game as part of the UEFA broadcast agreement will be the UEFA Super Cup final between Real Madrid and Atalanta on 14 August. DAZN will also show the Champions League play-off rounds from 21-22 August and 27-28 August.
