The new four-year agreement with the Bundesliga International grants DAZN exclusive broadcasting rights for the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, DFL Supercup, and promotion playoffs starting from the 2025/26 season.
This deal ensures that Spanish fans will continue to enjoy live coverage of key matches from Germany’s top two football divisions, along with access to match highlights and a range of local programming.
Bosco Aranguren, Managing Director of DAZN Spain, commented: “We are delighted to announce this new agreement that adds the Bundesliga to our exceptional offering.”
“Starting this season, fans will be able to enjoy the best experience on DAZN with LALIGA EA SPORTS, the Premier League, Serie A and the Bundesliga, as well as Liga F and Women’s Champions League; making our platform the reference destination for all lovers of the best football in the world.”
Although the new contract begins in 2025, DAZN subscribers in Spain will gain exclusive access to Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 as early as the 2024/25 season, thanks to a sub-licensing arrangement with Movistar.
Peer Naubert, Chief Marketing Officer of Bundesliga International, added on the new deal: “Spain is an important market and a country – like Germany – where football means everything.
“We are pleased to be working with DAZN across many markets internationally and will now work together to continue to bring ‘Football As It’s Meant To Be’ to fans throughout Spain.”
This move is part of DAZN’s broader strategy to expand its football coverage across Europe. Earlier this year, the streaming platform entered the UK market by acquiring the broadcasting rights to the National League, which includes the fifth and sixth tiers of English football.
In addition to its Bundesliga rights, DAZN has also announced that it will hold exclusive broadcasting rights for the English Premier League in Spain from the 2025/26 season through the 2027/28 season.
