Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has announced the launch of a new product called ‘ChatGPT for horseracing’.
Andrew Harding, the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Chief Executive of Racing, said the product will offer fans a ‘digitally immersive’ customer experience.
At the Asian Horseracing Conference in Sapporo, Harding said: ‘Fan engagement is not just a trend, it is the key to our future.’
Dennis Hau, the club’s executive director of customer strategy, said the current offering was inadequate and highlighted plans to introduce innovative features including AI-powered race cards and augmented reality horse performances.
The HKJC is also focusing on its “data-driven approach” to retain existing customers and attract the next generation.
“Without data and without understanding our customers, we would be flying blind,” Hau continued. “We would only be able to provide a one-size-fits-all service.
In recent news, the HKJC reported a total turnover of HK$134.7 billion (US$17.3 billion) for the 2023/24 season, down 4.5% from HK$141.1 billion (US$18.1 billion) the previous year.
