GiG Rebrands as Gentoo Media as Part of Restructuring

Gaming Innovation Group Inc has officially changed its name to Gentoo Media Inc following shareholder approval at a meeting held on September 23, 2024.

In a statement on the Gentoo Media website (formerly GiG Media), the company also confirmed the continuation of its dual listing: on the Norwegian Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker G2MNO, and on the Swedish Nasdaq Stockholm under the ticker G2M.

The rebranding from GiG to Gentoo is part of a restructuring aimed at separating the company’s media and platform divisions, which is expected to take place on September 30.

GiG’s restructuring process has been underway since the strategic review of the company was initiated in February 2023. The company is now following the previously announced timeline for the split, which was outlined in September.

At the end of the month, GiG’s platform and sportsbook division will be spun off to operate as an independently listed company under the name GiG Software PLC.

GiG Software will be listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market, with its first trading day expected on October 1.

Recently, GiG appointed Andreas Söneby to the board of directors of GiG Platform.

Söneby brings a wealth of experience from the gaming and technology sectors, having previously held leadership roles at Unibet, Kindred Group, and Kambi. He has also served in executive positions at White Hat Gaming and Instabox and is currently a venture partner at Industrifonden, a venture capital firm in Sweden.
