Parimatch has announced the appointment of Luís Fabiano, former forward of São Paulo FC and the Brazilian National Team, as its new brand ambassador.
He will now join the operator’s team of ambassadors along with racing driver Dudu Barrichello and comedian Mauricio Meirelles. Parimatch is already an active supporter of Brazilian sports, being the main sponsor of Botafogo FC and the Stock Car championship.
This initiative is aimed at strengthening ties with the Brazilian audience and increasing the brand’s presence in the sports betting market in the country.
Fabiano commented: “I am very happy to join Parimatch as a new ambassador. The partnership is a perfect match, as both the brand and I share a commitment to pushing boundaries and achieving excellence.”
The former footballer, who now works as a commentator for ESPN and StarPlus, is the third-highest scorer in Sao Paulo history with 233 goals over two periods.
“Throughout my career, I have always sought to connect with fans and inspire the next generation of athletes. I believe that Parimatch, with its global reach and dedication to supporting the sport, will help strengthen this connection. Together, we aim to create exciting opportunities and engage fans in new and innovative ways.”
The brand also described Luís Fabiano as still being an idol at Sevilla, and the fifth highest scorer in the European club’s history, with 127 goals.
For the Brazilian national team, he played 45 games and scored 28 goals, having played in the 2004 Copa América and the 2010 World Cup.
Parimatch Group also announced this week that co-founder Kateryna Biloruska would sell her controlling stake to fellow Co-Owner Sergey Portnov.
A source close to the deal told SBC News that the details of the deal were not disclosed. However, the source stressed that Portnov would become the owner of Parimatch Group, having also bought out the shares of some minority shareholders.
