PokerStars has expanded its partnerships by signing an agreement with the National Hockey League (NHL) team, the Philadelphia Flyers, which is now collaborating with the online poker brand of Flutter Entertainment.
As the official sponsor of the team, the PokerStars brand will be featured at the Flyers’ home games at the Wells Fargo Center and in television commercials during broadcasts.
PokerStars players will have the chance to win tickets to games and signed memorabilia by participating in special poker tournaments and monthly raffles on PokerStars Casino.
“We are thrilled to partner with such a beloved hockey team,” commented Rob Battista, Senior Director of Commercial at PokerStars North America.
“Hockey fans are some of the most passionate in the world, and we can’t wait to collaborate with the team to bring exciting tournaments and rewards to our communities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.”
PokerStars partners not only with the Philadelphia Flyers but also with other NHL teams, such as the Detroit Red Wings in Michigan, as well as with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment in the Canadian province of Ontario, which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Toronto Raptors (NBA).
Todd Glickman, Chief Revenue Officer of Comcast Spectacor, added: “We’re excited to welcome PokerStars to the Flyers family.
“Their dedication to innovation and giving epic rewards and experiences to their players aligns perfectly with our goals on engaging our fantastic community of fans.”
Earlier this month, PokerStars’ parent company, Flutter, released its third-quarter results, reporting an increase in revenue and adjusted EBITDA. In the US, revenue grew by 51% compared to the same period last year, reaching $1.3 billion (2023: $828 million).
