Italy has officially launched a new licensing regime for online gambling concessions, completing phase-1 of the government’s reorganisation of the gambling sector in 2024. While the Gaming Technology Association (GTA) has expressed disappointment over the “arbitrary exclusion” of the gaming sector from the Australian government’s scheme that provides tax incentives for companies to do R&D.

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has called on the Austrian government to reform the country’s gambling legislation and end the monopoly in the online casino sector. While the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has launched a review into Evolution Malta Limited regarding its operating licence in the UK market. 

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has released its Interim Performance Report for the first half of 2024, providing details on its regulatory activities and key performance indicators of the Maltese gaming industry.

DAZN has acquired the rights to broadcast the 2025 Club World Cup for €1 billion. amid falling interest in Ligue 1.  

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has confirmed entry fees will rise by 3.9% in 2025. This will be invested in BHA services. While the House of Representatives will ban election wagering, arguing that allowing commodities contracts on elections threatens their integrity and public trust.

Google announced significant changes to its advertising policy this week, specifically concerning gambling advertisements in Brazil. The company introduced new restrictions, permitting gambling and betting ads only from licensed operators.

SOFTSWISS is preparing to launch its Game Aggregator solution in the Brazilian market after successfully obtaining certification, ahead of the country’s regulated iGaming sector launch. Amusnet has also successfully obtained certification for entry into Brazil’s market, marking an important step in the company’s global expansion. 

The game development studio Evoplay has announced a new partnership with leading Baltic operator Optibet, part of Entain. While the digital entertainment provider Playson is expanding its distribution reach in the European market after signing an agreement with B2B aggregation platform provider St8.

ComeOn Group has announced a new partnership with Danish esports organisation Astralis, which will commence in January 2025. While Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com is entering the sports event trading market. 

Stakelogic will expand its presence in Italy with Scommettendo. While DevilFish Poker announces a strategic partnership with EvenBet Gaming to create innovative social poker software.

​​BetMakers Technology Group has signed a new partnership with Australian wagering operator betr. While Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has confirmed that the online gambling licence of LiveScore Malta Limited, operating as LiveScore Bet, in the Netherlands has been revoked upon request.
