Sportradar Acquires IMG Arena and Rights Package for $225M

Sportradar has agreed to a blockbuster deal to acquire IMG Arena and a rights package.

The Switzerland-based sports data aggregator announced on Wednesday an agreement with Endeavor Group Holdings to acquire IMG Arena and the service’s global sports betting rights portfolio. The deal will allow Sportradar to diversify its product offerings while solidifying its position as one of the largest data and content providers in sports.

IMG Arena, a service that works with over 470 gambling brands, will see its rights portfolio integrated and monetized by Sportradar to drive value for shareholders and clients.

“Sportradar’s success is driven by the breadth of its sports coverage, its broad product portfolio and leading technology, and its global distribution network,” said Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl.

“Given our proven track record of maximizing ROI through our global betting rights deals and our strengthened position across tennis, basketball and soccer, we are confident in our ability to realize the full economic potential of this portfolio.”

The deal is projected to enhance Sportradar’s adjusted EBITDA margins and spark growth in revenue and cash flow. Its financial structure calls for $125 million to be paid to Sportradar with up to $100 million in cash prepayments made by Endeavor to rights holders.

The acquisition, with a total financial consideration of $225 million, has 70% of its sports betting rights tied to basketball, soccer and tennis—the three most popular sports for bettors.

Sportradar has acquired 70 rights holders that host approximately 39,000 official data events. IMG Arena’s portfolio of rights holders also hosts roughly 30,000 streaming events.

The rights holders have global reach by covering 14 sports across six continents. Their properties include Major League Soccer, the PGA Tour, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.

Sportradar expects to close the acquisition in Q4 2025 pending regulatory approvals.

Sportradar takes advantage of the open market

Sportradar has acquired IMG Arena and its sports betting rights after the service underwent a merger and potential changes in ownership. Last February, Endeavor announced it would merge IMG Arena and its OpenBet property into a single entity.

Endeavor acquired OpenBet from Light & Wonder in 2022 for $800 million.

In November 2024, Endeavor announced it agreed to sell OpenBet and IMG Arena to OB Global Holdings LLC in a management buyout deal worth approximately $450 million.

Endeavor continued its attempt to sell IMG Arena to third-party entities after closing the management buyout deal with OB Global Holdings LCC as its focal point was OpenBet.
