One of the largest events in the field of sports marketing and business, the national Metaratings Top Awards, was held in Almaty on April 3.
The winners in 26 nominations were awarded at the ceremony, from the best athlete of the year to the best bookmaker. The event took place at the Royal Tulip Almaty Hotel at the foot of the Zailiyskiy Alatau Mountains.
The special invited guests of the evening were former defenders of the Brazilian national team and football world champions Cafu and Roberto Carlos. However, Roberto Carlos never made it to Almaty due to technical difficulties.
26 awards were presented during the ceremony. Five contenders reached the final of each nomination, who were determined by a popular vote of viewers. The winners were chosen by 19 experts from a wide variety of “branches” of sports.
The jury included the goalkeeper of the Kazakhstan national football team Igor Shatsky, the president of the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation Aliya Yusupova, the editor-in-chief of Meta-ratings.kz Yerbol Kairov and the founder of the Bookmaker Rating Paruyr Shakhbazyan.
The awards themselves were divided into two blocks – sports and bookmakers. In the first part of 14 nominations, athletes, clubs, federations, journalists, TV channels and media competed for awards.
The best team of the year was the Kazakhstan national futsal team, which reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup in 2024 and lost only to Argentina in the tournament.
Zenit footballer Nuraly Alip was recognized as the athlete of the year, and the best athlete was parajudoist, champion of the 2024 Summer Paralympics Akmaral Nauatbek.

- “Best Athlete”: Nuraly Alip;
- “Best Coach”: Paulo Ricardo Kaka
- “For Contribution to the Development of Sports in Kazakhstan”: Kairat Boranbayev.
Traditionally, bookmakers were also recognized at the awards, competing in 12 nominations. The title of best bookmaker went to 1xBet, and the main award was presented personally by Kafu.
In addition to the “Best Bookmaker”, 1xBet took the nominations for “Best Application” and “Ambassador of the Year” in the person of Roberto Carlos. Fonbet was recognized as the most reliable bookmaker in Kazakhstan, and Olimpbet was recognized as the people’s bookmaker.
