Gambling activities and licences in Montenegro will now be officially governed by the New Law on Games of Chance. While North Macedonian ministers and political parties are preparing for a parliamentary battle over the terms and adoption of a new Gambling Law.

The State Great Khural of Mongolia has voted on legislative amendments that will prohibit all activities related to paid predictions, sports betting, and online gambling. While Vietnamese economists have supported the Ministry of Finance’s initiative to ease regulations governing casino gambling for local residents.

Thai police have raided the home of an alleged organiser of an illegal online gambling website, seizing a large amount of cash and luxury cars. While governmental calls for a nationwide ban on iGaming are intensifying, a department of the Philippines‘ government has prohibited its personnel from engaging with online gambling.

In the first half of 2025, the FAVBET Group paid UAH 4.37 billion (USD 106,4 million) in taxes to Ukraine’s state budget, marking a significant increase from the UAH 3.08 billion (USD 74,94 million) contributed during the same period in 2024.

FIFA has reiterated that firms from the betting industry, and other sectors, are prohibited from sponsoring referee shirts or VAR rooms after it emerged that some of its rules have been loosely followed in some countries. Moreover, the French government has classified manipulation of sports event results as crimes of the same severity as organised crime.

TonyBet has received a warning from the Netherlands Gambling Authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), after the operator listed betting markets on the winner of the Ballon d’Or and the FIFA Club World Cup Golden Boot.

Light & Wonder has shared its Q2 2025 results, showing steady progress despite a marginal dip in overall revenue as the iGaming technology company moves to a sole primary listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). While shareholders of Donaco International have unanimously voted to sell its casino operator to a Hong Kong investment firm, On Nut Road. The decision will mark the end of the company’s history on the ASX.

Flutter Entertainment revealed revenue of $4.2bn in Q2 2025, up 16% from $3.6bn the year prior. While Entain Plc reports that group trading performance is exceeding expectations, with projections for full-year EBITDA in the range of £1.1 billion to £1.15 billion ($1.37 billion to $1.44 billion).

Flutter Entertainment is the most valuable of the world’s gaming PLCs, but one of its closest rivals has taken the lead in a key market. Entain, a competitor in several markets, is faring better in the UK, according to its Q2 results. While international operations remain a key source of revenue for several major US betting and gaming companies, as clearly demonstrated by Bally’s recently published financial results.

Sands China Ltd has announced the appointment of Patrick Dumont – President and Chief Operating Officer of parent company Las Vegas Sands Corp (LVS) – as a non-executive director of the company.

Struggling Australian casino operator The Star Entertainment Group (The Star) has secured another financial lifeline after agreeing to offload one of its businesses to an East Asian group of businesses.

Stake, the world’s biggest crypto-based iGaming operator, has unveiled its latest move to cement its position at the forefront of digital gaming – the launch of Stake Engine, a developer-focused platform aimed at accelerating innovation across the iGaming ecosystem.

ELA Games has strengthened its footprint in Europe by entering a new content partnership with Betsson in Denmark.
