Between March and July 2025, the Responsible Gambling Center (RGC) carried out the preparatory stage of a large-scale international knowledge exchange program aimed at shaping responsible gambling policy in Ukraine. The initiative, supported by FAVBET, is designed to help the country adopt effective practices already working across Europe.
The project includes working visits to EU member states to learn from their responsible gambling frameworks. Ukrainian experts identified Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Sweden, Denmark, Romania, and Croatia as reference points, as these countries have already developed proven solutions.
Contacts are now being established with regulators, responsible gambling centers, and even healthcare institutions abroad to maximize the benefits of the exchange. RGC has sent letters and proposals to foreign experts to initiate cooperation. The first study visits are planned for Lithuania in autumn and Sweden in November. In parallel, the team is monitoring key developments in the sector and preparing to participate in the SBC Summit Lisbon 2025, which will take place from September 16–18 in Portugal. Ukrainian state agencies will also be part of the expert delegations.
According to the RGC, the ultimate goal of the project is the creation of a nationwide program to combat gambling addiction. The plan includes legislative changes, the launch of new services, expansion of support networks, and the training of specialists.
FAVBET is actively supporting RGC’s efforts to introduce international best practices and player-focused approaches. The company previously became the main sponsor of Ukraine’s first national gambling addiction study and a comprehensive project to implement social services. One of the outcomes was a government-approved standard, now successfully applied at the “Life Space” center, which provides support to players with signs of gambling addiction and their families.
“We understand that building a culture of responsible gambling is a long process that requires consistency. Supporting international initiatives helps Ukraine adopt effective solutions and raise safety standards in the gambling industry,” FAVBET stated.
