Ukraine’s PlayCity Begins Issuing Licenses to Gambling Companies

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution on gambling licensing, granting the State Agency for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, PlayCity, the authority to issue new licenses and confirm existing ones.

According to PlayCity, this decision will soon generate almost UAH 50 million (€1.03 million / $1.25 million) in additional revenues for the state budget from license fees.

To obtain a license, companies must demonstrate an impeccable reputation, “have no ties with the aggressor state”, and implement responsible gaming mechanisms. These requirements apply both to new applicants and to existing operators, who have two months to submit the necessary compliance documents.

Failure to meet the requirements may result in fines or license revocation for gambling organisers.

“The state will direct additional budget revenues to strengthen defense capabilities, in particular, to purchase drones for the Defense Forces,” PlayCity added.
