Digitain has received an E Category license in Belgium, granting the company access to operate in the local market.
The iGaming solutions provider will now be able to offer Belgian operators a full range of services — from turnkey and API solutions to its Centrivo Dynamics and Centrivo Universal platforms, which allow for integration of various gaming verticals through modular plug-ins.
Obtaining the license forms part of Digitain’s broader strategy to expand its presence in Europe.
In early January, the company strengthened its Maltese operations by appointing Aida Vardanyan as CEO and Gil Soffer as CCO. Earlier, in October 2024, Digitain partnered with LeBull in Poland, further consolidating its position in that market.
However, the company’s expansion extends far beyond Europe. In January, Digitain announced that it had become one of the first suppliers to receive certification in the emerging Brazilian market. Prior to this, the company had partnered with Colombo Sport in the Dominican Republic.
Digitain emphasizes that the Belgian gambling market is “a highly regulated jurisdiction with strict standards to ensure fair play and responsible gaming.” The license acquisition coincided with the formation of a new Belgian Gaming Commission, which now includes 12 members and 12 alternates representing six government ministers. The commission maintains a linguistic balance, with half of its members speaking Dutch and the other half French. Their terms of office will last for six years.
The effectiveness of Belgium’s regulatory model is further evidenced by the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Belgian Gaming Commission and the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI). This agreement aims to strengthen collaboration and support the new Irish regulator in building its communication framework.
