VBET Prepares Corrective Action Plan Following Investigation by Dutch Regulator

SCGO Limited stated that it is committed to ensuring the “safest possible operating environment” following a review conducted by the Dutch gambling regulator into VBET’s operations in the Netherlands.

Following an investigation in April 2025, the Dutch Gambling Authority (Kansspelautoriteit, KSA) issued a warning to VBET, highlighting breaches of the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act (Wwft).

According to the regulator’s findings, the company did not adequately implement a company-wide risk assessment, lacked sufficient clarity regarding the key risks identified by VBET, and did not maintain proper version control of the relevant documentation.

As a result, financial supervisory authorities were unable to determine how the identified risks had been assessed, the effectiveness of the control measures in place, and whether these risks remained current.

Additionally, KSA highlighted the need to improve AML measures, including strengthening monitoring of player transactions, aligning internal policies and procedures with regulatory requirements, and properly documenting client risk profiles.

At the same time, the regulator noted VBET’s constructive engagement: the company proactively prepared a corrective action plan and confirmed its commitment to following all issued recommendations. This position was also supported by company representatives.

“VBET fully supports the licensing objectives of the Netherlands and remains committed to working proactively with the KSA to ensure the safest possible operating environment,” noted SCGO spokesperson.

“The matters identified during the review have already been addressed and we used this process as an opportunity to further strengthen our compliance and operational framework as a whole.

“We are confident that the measures implemented will fully satisfy the KSA’s expectations and reinforce our long-term commitment to responsible and compliant operations.

“VBET appreciates the constructive and cooperative engagement from the KSA throughout the investigation, as reflected in the acknowledgement that we worked proactively on a recovery plan.”
