Austria’s three ruling parties will target October 2027 as the launch date for the much anticipated licensed market – essentially ending the Casinos Austria monopoly across both land-based and online (Win2Day).

The proposed collective gambling tax across the European Union is making progress. While the Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has confirmed that the use of cryptocurrency payments will remain permitted in the market, despite the regulator’s shift toward a stricter regulatory framework.

The Dutch online gambling association VNLOK has announced its intention to file a lawsuit against Meta in the EU, accusing the company of failing to effectively block illegal gambling advertisements on its platforms.

Entain will close the shutters on its Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) operations. The group has agreed to sell its 20% stake in the Entain CEE business to its joint venture partner EMMA Capital for a total cash consideration of around €425m. While Super Technologies has agreed to acquire Romanian software development company Crafting Technologies as it looks to establish a larger technology hub in Romania.

Dario Jurčič has joined Digitain, where he will be responsible for developing the company’s commercial strategy and expanding its presence in regulated markets across Europe and Africa. While Gibraltar’s Ministry of Justice, Trade and Industry has begun searching for a new Gambling Commissioner and Executive Director.

ADI Predictstreet has landed yet another deal as it continues to garner attention in the industry, this time partnering with BetConstruct AI. While Fonbet is strengthening its position in the Greek online gaming market through a strategic partnership with ELA Games.

With the support of SMH Sports, Georgian fighter Levan Chokheli has become an official ambassador for Adjarabet. This news came ahead of the fighter’s confident UFC debut, marking the beginning of a new and important stage in his career.
