Brightstar Lottery (formerly IGT) has signed an agreement with Pan Malaysian Pools (PMP) to supply 1,200 proprietary retail terminals.
As a licensed numbers lottery operator in Malaysia, PMP plans to leverage this partnership to upgrade its infrastructure by deploying Brightstar’s Retailer Pro S2 terminals, ensuring alignment with evolving market requirements and the needs of the retail network.
Tan Kong Han, Managing Director of PMP, stated: “Deploying Brightstar’s Retailer Pro S2 terminals will provide several added benefits for PMP, our retailers, and players.
“The many components of this sophisticated terminal will support PMP in our efforts to offer modern experiences for our players, reliable solutions for retailers, and enhance productivity and profitability in our business that continuously funds The Community Chest, which establishes and develops schools throughout Malaysia.”
The terminals are equipped with a 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen and a high-performance processor that ensures rapid transaction speeds. Thanks to their modular design, the devices support multiple player-facing displays and a wide array of peripherals, including barcode scanners, biometric readers, NFC technology, and webcams for improved security.
Marco Tasso, Brightstar’s Chief Operating Officer for International and Italy Operations, commented:
“Brightstar’s Retailer Pro S2 represents the next-generation evolution of our industry-leading Retailer Pro terminal, now more compact, powerful, and flexible.
“Designed for dynamic retail environments like those in Malaysia, the S2 redefines player engagement by offering a range of interactive options that elevate the experience for PMP’s players.”
Brightstar’s expansion in Asia follows a recent success in Europe, where a consortium of four Italian companies, including Brightstar, secured a nine-year contract extension to continue operating ItalyLotto—a popular fixed-numbers lottery game.
