Superbet Strengthens Its Influence in Europe by Joining the European Gaming and Betting Association

Superbet Group has become a new operator to join the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA).

As a member of the association, Superbet Group will contribute to its activities, including initiatives for responsible advertising, safer gambling, and the implementation of the recently adopted EU anti-money laundering rules.

“We’re delighted to welcome Superbet Group to EGBA, further strengthening our industry representation,” said Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA.

“Superbet’s expertise and market focus will be invaluable to call upon as EGBA continues its drive to set high industry standards and promote a safe and competitive online gambling environment in Europe. We look forward to working with our new colleagues.”

Founded in 2008, Superbet Group includes the brands Superbet, Napoleon Sports & Casino, and Lucky Days. The group is also a member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).

Albert Simsensohn, Chief Operating Officer of Superbet Group, added: “This is an important chapter in our journey, as becoming members of EGBA demonstrates our commitment to nurture a sustainable growth for our company, while adhering to the highest standards of compliance across all our markets.

“We are prepared to work closely with EGBA, exchanging industry best practices and ensuring that our industry operates in a fair and properly regulated European environment.”

Last month, EGBA expressed its views on Finland’s legislative proposal to introduce licensing for gambling, covering online casinos and online sports betting, while abolishing the monopoly of the state-owned operator Veikkaus.

Maarten Haijer noted that this is “a step in the right direction,” but the proposal requires “some fine-tuning,” particularly regarding the proposed marketing restrictions and the blanket ban on bonuses.
