SOFTSWISS, a leading global developer of innovative technologies for online gaming with over 15 years of experience, has published the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook Q3 2024 report. The report highlights significant growth in esports, with betting volume doubling compared to the previous quarter, and the average esports bet size increasing by 17.6%.
The top five sports by Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) remained unchanged: football, tennis, basketball, table tennis, and eFootball. For the second consecutive quarter, eFootball has outperformed Counter-Strike 2, reflecting shifting interests within the esports sector. However, football continues to dominate, accounting for nearly half of the total GGR.
The average real-time bet grew by 10% quarter-on-quarter, a positive indicator for operators as real-time bets comprise 78.6% of total turnover. The SOFTSWISS Sportsbook team is actively enhancing the real-time betting functionality, aiming to leverage this trend and provide operators with even greater revenue opportunities.
In Q3 2024, the average bet size rose by 9.7% quarter-on-quarter, while the number of bets increased by 18.7%. GGR saw a modest growth of 1.5% over the quarter.
Despite the large number of projects launched around the UEFA Euro 2024, monthly statistics indicate that with the right promotional strategies, projects can continue to operate successfully even after major events.
Alexander Kamenetskyi, Head of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, adds: “Aligning a launch with a major sporting event can be a successful strategy, but football is not the only sport that can be leveraged in this way. The growth of cybersports presents new opportunities; for specialized projects targeting specific audiences, esports events can also serve as an effective starting point.
We continuously focus on product growth and development, enhancing features and user experience to drive further engagement and profitability for our partners.”
SOFTSWISS Sportsbook continues to expand its global presence. The product team is targeting certification in Brazil, a process conducted by an accredited testing laboratory. Additionally, for the South African market, SOFTSWISS Sportsbook recently implemented a Horse Racing Module. This tool offers operators new business opportunities, covering over 2,400 international and local races each month. The solution engages players through race information, jockey colors, and various bet types, while allowing operators to create unique themes and configurations aligned with their brand.
The SOFTSWISS team is preparing the iGaming Trends Report 2025, providing an in-depth analysis of key industry developments based on over 50,000 media headlines and expert insights.
