ALT Sports Data will begin the supply of sports data engagement tools to igaming operator bet365.
Both companies will look to expand the betting experience for a wider target demographic, simultaneously leveraging bet365’s market expertise and ALT Sports Data’s existing sports partnerships.
A bet365 spokesperson said: “ALT Sports Data provides us with access to an exclusive audience with advanced insights, and we are excited to partner with an industry leader.
“We look forward to integrating new developments as we continue to create the best player experience for our customers.”
One of the priorities that bet365 and ALT Sports Data will focus on is the introduction of growth opportunities for sports that have been traditionally underrepresented in betting.
The partnership is a significant boost for ALT Sports Data, which seems to be chasing a podium spot in the highly competitive sports data space – a tough sector home to big players like Genius Sports, Stats Perform and Sportradar.
Its deal with bet365 comes just a couple of weeks after it secured a data rights deal with Formula One. Partnering with one of the world’s biggest sports organisations and betting firms in the same quarter suggests that the company is looking to establish itself as a serious contender in sports data and tech.
Joe Dunnigan, Founder and CEO of ALT Sports Data, added: “We are thrilled to collaborate with bet365, a true global leader in sports betting. This partnership marks a significant step in our mission to bring alternative sports into the mainstream.
“By providing data that drives new and differentiated sports bettors, we are creating a dynamic betting environment that will appeal to a wider range of sports fans.”
Meanwhile, bet365 has been making a lot of moves on the sports betting front lately, most recently introducing its Super Sub bet feature. It allows for wagers on certain players to roll over to their replacement if they get substituted in-game.
The launch comes in a time of increasing international competition, with Paddy Power and William Hill also launching their own versions of the offering.
SBC’s Managing Editor, Jessica Welman, and SBC News’ Editor, Ted Orme-Claye, were both recently on the iGaming Daily podcast to dive deeper into the Super Sub feature.
