{"id":10036,"date":"2025-07-07T13:37:51","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T12:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=10036"},"modified":"2025-07-07T13:37:56","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T12:37:56","slug":"dutch-vnlok-and-noga-to-merge-amid-market-changes-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/07\/07\/dutch-vnlok-and-noga-to-merge-amid-market-changes-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Dutch VNLOK and NOGA to Merge Amid Market Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to Dutch media, the two largest industry associations in the Dutch gambling industry, <strong>VNLOK<\/strong> and <strong>NOGA<\/strong>, have decided to merge in the context of a rapidly changing regulatory environment, uniting their member organizations under the VNLOK brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking a closer look at the organisations, NOGA first came into existence in 2019 through the vision of Dutch lawyer <strong>Peter-Paul de Goeij<\/strong>, who wanted a body that represents the interests of both domestic and international operators on Dutch soil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VNLOK on the other hand was established in 2021 post-online market regulation, with the goal of strengthening cooperation between Dutch iGaming providers and building up good player safety practices while the market developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the merger, <strong>Sanna van Doorn<\/strong>, NOGA\u2019s Vice-Chairman, said: \u201cThe board of NOGA is pleased that after a longer period of cooperation, we are now entering a next phase together with VNLOK as an industry association.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are convinced that we will achieve a broad and solid industry association, which will continue to make a relevant contribution to a structurally healthy and safe online gambling market in the Netherlands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dutch market is currently undergoing major reforms led by State Secretary for Legal Protections <strong>Teun Struycken<\/strong>. Some of the changes mandated by Struycken will see stricter safety gambling measures introduced, including playing bans of people aged under 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, there is currently a caretaker Dutch government in place after the previous coalition cabinet fell through, with new elections expected to take place later in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VNLOK and NOGA will now move to address these changes through their merger. <strong>Bj\u00f6rn Fuchs, <\/strong>VNLOK Chair, commented: \u201cOn behalf of the board of VNLOK, I would like to express our gratitude for the dialogue and efforts of the board of NOGA, which make this joint next step possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA necessary and logical step, which gives the online gambling industry one clear, united voice towards all relevant stakeholders.
