{"id":10447,"date":"2025-08-12T12:07:54","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T11:07:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=10447"},"modified":"2025-08-12T12:07:59","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T11:07:59","slug":"light-wonder-moves-from-nasdaq-to-asx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/08\/12\/light-wonder-moves-from-nasdaq-to-asx\/","title":{"rendered":"Light &amp; Wonder Moves From Nasdaq to ASX"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Light &amp; Wonder<\/strong> has shared its Q2 2025 results, showing steady progress despite a marginal dip in overall revenue as the iGaming technology company moves to a sole primary listing on the <strong>Australian Securities Exchange<\/strong> (ASX).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently listed on the <strong>Global Nasdaq<\/strong>, Light &amp; Wonder brought in <strong>$809m in revenue<\/strong>, down 1% year-over-year from $816m, with the dip attributed to integration timing and softer gaming sales as the company missed its \u2018consensus estimates\u2019 of revenues standing<strong> at $860m<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Period trading saw Light &amp; Wonder improve its <strong>operating margin to 44% (vs 40%)<\/strong> helping adjusted EBITDA climbed<strong> 7% to $352m<\/strong> (Q2 2024:$330m), as corporate cashflow stands at $136m.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A breakdown performance saw Gaming revenue slightly down at<strong> $528m (-2%)<\/strong>, as Light &amp; Wonder projects strengthened prospects for the unit as its North American base grew 42% year-over-year to over 46,300 units installed, helped by the <strong>Grover<\/strong> acquisition, which added<strong> $21m<\/strong> in revenue contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, Light &amp; Wonder\u2019s iGaming segment hit a record<strong> $81m in revenue, up 9%<\/strong>, with EBITDA<strong> up 17% to $28m<\/strong> and <strong>margins at 35%<\/strong>. This was apparently fuelled by a 22% jump in online wagers and strong growth in the US and Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SciPlay, the company\u2019s social gaming division, delivered <strong>$200m<\/strong> in revenue and <strong>$74m in EBITDA<\/strong>, both up 6%. The direct-to-consumer platform now makes up 18% of <strong>SciPlay\u2019s<\/strong> revenue, with games like <strong>Quick Hit Slots and 88 Fortunes<\/strong> driving strong results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Share buybacks continued, with <strong>$100m<\/strong> returned to shareholders this quarter \u2013 more than halfway through an expanded<strong> $1.5bn<\/strong> programme. Free cash flow was<strong> $29m <\/strong>but took a hit from a <strong>$73m <\/strong>legal settlement. Without that, cash flow would\u2019ve topped <strong>$100m<\/strong>, the company asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout 2025, Light &amp; Wonder has focused on expanding its market presence, notably completing the acquisition of Grover Charitable Gaming to strengthen its North American operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead, Light &amp; Wonder reaffirmed full-year guidance, expecting adjusted EBITDA between<strong> $1.43bn and $1.47bn<\/strong> and adjusted NPATA between $550m and $575m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As previously mentioned, Light &amp; Wonder\u2019s Board has approved moving to a sole primary listing on the ASX and plans to delist from the Nasdaq by November 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision was made after a \u2018thorough review\u2019, noting that most of the company\u2019s investors are now on the ASX, with the ASX holding 100% of issued shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm also warned of risks tied to this change, such as possible negative effects on stock liquidity and trading prices or exposure to new regulations it isn\u2019t necessarily familiar with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to Investors, CEO <strong>Matt Wilson<\/strong> commented on the ASX migration: \u201cToday marks an important day for Light and Wonder as we are excited to announce the company\u2019s decision to transition to a sole ASX listing by November 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFollowing an extensive diligence process undertaken with our advisers, including positive feedback from consultations with investors both in Australia and The US, the decision was clear that this path will deliver tremendous shareholder value over the long term.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sbceurasia\">Telegram channel<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Light &amp; Wonder has shared its Q2 2025 results, showing steady progress despite a marginal dip in overall revenue as the iGaming technology company moves to a sole primary listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
